Organic Farming

Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation established 21 Organic with the overall view of uplifting the living standards of farmers. More specifically, it aims to help transition farmers from modern farming to organic/traditional farming in the interests of providing nutritious, wholesome and non-toxic produce and restoring our environment. Additionally, the Foundation offers various schemes to aid farmers in increasing their income and regularly runs camps to create awareness in this regard.

Tree Plantation

Greening of the environment is of great importance to the Trustees of the Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation. To this end and also to counteract the increasing water scarcity in the region, a massive tree planting effort commenced in Latur city in 2012. Till date, approximately 70,000 trees have been planted and preserved.

Government Plans

An important objective of the Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation is to ensure that the various schemes floated by the government to aid the people of Latur are made known to all concerned. It regularly conducts programmes in the different districts including Sikandarpur, Dattak Gaon Kasargaon, Pakharsangvi, Sirshi, Harangul (Khu) to create awareness so that those in need receive the benefits offered under these Government schemes.

Skill Development Training Program

Under the aegis of the government’s Skill Development Employment and Entrepreneurship Mission, the Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation offers skill development training to 18-45 year old unemployed youth to enhance their prospects for employment. Additionally the Foundation conducts free training in the field of health by organising CM Health Development Skills Development Training.

Health Camps

The Vilasrao Deshmukh Foundation regularly organises health camps in Latur city and in the rural areas in an attempt to bring relief and treatment to those unable to avail of the same. These cover general health check-ups particularly for women and the elderly, ophthalmology check-ups including provision of spectacles, blood donation etc.
